    経歴 昭和56年に工学博士学位(慶応大学)を取得、昭和56年(1981)〜平成3年(1991)まで防衛大学校電気工学教室で助手、講師、助教授を勤め、平成3年創価大学工学部設立時に工学部助教授として赴任した。慶応大学学部、大学院、防衛大学校においては主に気体レーザ装置とその周辺技術の開発に従事し、気体レーザ(HF化学レーザ、沃素化学レーザ、スラブ型炭酸ガスレーザ)の開発に従事する。この間、昭和62年〜63年(1987〜1988)には、オランダ王国トゥエンテ工科大学で客員研究員を勤め、気体レーザ励起用プラズマ光源の開発の研究に従事。1991年に創価大学工学部に移籍、それまでに積み上げた知識と経験を生かし、レーザ、光ファイバの応用技術の研究、さらにはロボット誘導のためのセンシング技術開発を行い、情報応用分野の新たな分野を開拓してきた。レーザによる特殊加工、レーザによる色づけ加工、ヘテロコア光ファイバ、スペクトル拡散超音波測位システムの開発を行う。
     産業界においては、技術顧問、技術コンサルタント、その他中小企業の技術指導を行い、産業応用研究にも尽力する。大学での研究成果を産業界に積極展開することを目指し、平成13年度経済産業省即効型地域新生コンソーシアム研究開発事業に、また平成18年に文部科学省私立大学学術研究高度化事業社会連携事業(H18-22)に採択された。
     一般社会人に対する専門講座である“情報システム先端技術講座”の講師を務め、主に多摩地域の産業界の社会人(延べ約50人)に情報エレクトロニクスの講義を行ってきた。社会人へのリフレッシュ教育にも貢献をした。
     レーザ学会、応用物理学会、ロボット学会、電気学会、計測自動制御学会の会員。HPL&A(High Power Laser & Applications) 国際シンポジウムプログラム運営委員。公益法人天田財団委員。TAMA-TLO 評価委員。2008年にベンチャー企業株式会社コアシステムジャパンを設立、現在、専務取締役。
